One of the most important things to do before going abroad is allowing yourself to reflect about your own motivations and expectations. Going to another country for holidays is one thing, but going there to study or work (even as an intern) is a different pair of shoes.

Read the article provided in materials (Motivations exercise article) and watch the video inside the article. Considering what you've just read: what are your motivations to go for an internship abroad? List 5 motivations and explain them briefly.

Expectations that we have towards a certain idea, person, place or even our future can have a great influence on our experience and on our performance. Watch the video provided in materials (Expectations exercise video) and answer the following questions:
- How can negative expectations change our experience?

- How do you evaluate your expectations towards going abroad? Do you think they are too low, too high, positive, negative? Describe them.
